GEORGETOWN. A fun place for dinner or socializing, this character-filled saloon is a throw-back to the good old days. Its Victorian decor, including the elaborate mahogany bar, is stately but relaxed and offers patrons a terrific place to hang out, nurse a drink, and chat with friends. The handcrafted beers and Bloody Marys are particular favorites, and the raw bar offers freshly-shucked oysters to eager onlookers. Large groups often choose this venue for parties and celebrations because of the great ambience and beautiful decor. A well-attended happy hour and late hours in general give J. Paul's added appeal. The huge selection of Scotch doesn't hurt either.
